Very little is known of Ikrini and their culture. They originally hail from
Liara, in the Crab Nebula, and are known to possess matrix abilities of a
totally new kind. The powers of these matrices vary, depending on the Ikrini's
location. Scientists theorize that the Ikrini are actually capable of tapping
into the latent kinetic potential of the area around them to power their
matrices. A volcano or waterfall would be tremendous sources of power for
Ikrini matrices, while static areas such as the desert would possess less
energy for th eIkrini to utilize. Geomantic powers, as they are called,
involve the flow and application of energy, similar to Mutzachan
powers. Moreover, these powers are based on the environment surrounding the
controller, much like Gemini matrix abilities.
However, Geomancers combine these aspects to accomplish tasks which other matrix controllers could only do in their wildest dreams. The Ikrini have applied to the Alliance for protectorate status, as the Arachnid invasions have seriously damaged their home system. The Mutzachans and the Gemini support the admission of the Ikrini. Barring unforseen developments, the portectorate status is expected to be approved before the end of 2280.
